Marking the 40th anniversary of Ford's supermini ride, the 2016 Ford Fiesta is available in four trims: S, SE, Titanium, and SL. Ford Fiesta Interior The 2016 Ford Fiesta provides a passenger volume of 85.1 cubic feet, which is sufficient for a maximum capacity of five occupants. For more cargo space, it is strongly recommended that you go with the hatchback variant, which provides up to 25.4 cubic feet. Regardless of body style, though, you can always expand cargo space by split-folding the bench-style rear seats. Heating capability, which is optional on the SE and SL, is standard on the Titanium, which is the only trim that comes with leather-trimmed seats; ST-badged RECARO® racing seats go on the performance-oriented ST. For entertainment, the S and SE come with a six-speaker audio system, which includes AM/FM radio, CD player with MP3 playback, and steering wheel-mounted controls. On the Titanium and ST, however, Ford installs a 100-watt Sony audio system, which comes with HD Radio technology and a speaker set-up that consists of four woofers and four tweeters. Remote keyless entry, front and rear cup holders, and SYNC 3 voice recognition are standard on the Fiesta. If you upgrade to the SE or higher, you have the option of adding a navigation system with SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link® capability.

Ford Fiesta Exterior

For an economy-focused vehicle, the 2016 Ford Fiesta looks stunning-with its athletic and sculpted look. You can choose from 10 cool exterior colors. Upgrading beyond the base-level S can provide additional standard or available features, such as rear spoiler, fog lights, power moonroof, rear windows wiper, fully automatic headlights, and heating capability and turn-signal indicators on the power side mirrors. For the ultimate sports-style look, however, go with the ST, which includes ST badges on its 17-inch Rado Gray alloy wheels to go with its rear spoiler.

Powertrain
Ford Fiesta Powertrain

Powering the S, SE, and Titanium trims of the 2016 Ford Fiesta is a 1.6-liter 16-valve inline four-cylinder (I4) engine, which is paired with a five-speed manual transmission and produces 120 horsepower and 112 foot-pounds (lb-ft) of torque. However, you have the choice of switching the engine on the SE with a 1.0-liter EcoBoost V4; and you can opt for a six-speed automatic on any of the aforementioned trims-as long as you remain with the 1.6-liter engine. The SL is the lone Fiesta trim with the 1.6-liter turbocharged EcoBoost I4, which churns out 197 horsepower and 202 lb-ft of torque, and requires premium fuel. The ST engine is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. Depending on the powertrain configuration, the 2016 Fiesta can provide a fuel economy of 26 to 28 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city and 35 to 37 mpg on the highway.

A four-wheel independent suspension-with MacPherson struts at the front and a twist beam design at the back-helps the 2016 Ford Fiesta formidably absorb turbulence on uneven surfaces. Plus, the electric power-assisted steering provides outstanding handling, especially during sudden or evasive maneuvers. The ST in particular is spruced up with four-wheel disc brakes (instead of a disc-and-drum layout), track pads, sport-tuned suspension for a firmer ride, and the option of getting 17-inch black aluminum wheels with red brake calipers. Also, the ST has a lower center of gravity height and ride height for increasing overall response and stability during driving.

Safety
Ford Fiesta Safety

For protection in the event of a car crash, the 2016 Ford Fiesta comes with front impact airbags, which face the driver and front passenger; a knee airbag for the driver; side impact airbags, which are installed on the front seats; and side curtain airbags, which are installed on the roof. Also on board is Standard AdvanceTrac, which is Ford's brand name for its combination of electronic vehicle stability, traction control, and anti-lock braking system (ABS) for optimized control when driving on roads made slippery by weather elements such as snow, rain, or ice. And since the ST is a sports-oriented model, Ford enhances its traction control system for assisting in the reduction of understeer during tight cornering. For security, the 2016 Fiesta has an anti-theft system with engine immobilizer. Can't wait to test Drive 2016 Ford Fiesta Chicago IL? Schedule your 2016 Fiesta test drive at Fox Ford Chicago.
