The integrity of your oil has a direct effect on
your engine's long-term health. As we drive, our oil accrues all manner of dirt
and grime, which prevents it from cooling your engine effectively. If your
engine builds up enough heat, it can cause expensive and even irreversible
damage.
How to Know When You Need an Oil Change
When you need an oil change is dependent on what
kind of oil you choose to put into your engine. There are three different oil
types - conventional, synthetic, and synthetic blend, and each one is good for
a different amount of mileage.
Conventional - 3,000 to 5,000 miles
Synthetic - 10,000 to 15,000 miles or once a year (whichever
comes first)
Synthetic Blend - 5,000 to 7,500 miles
