What's New on the 2022 Ford Expedition

The 2022 Expedition has some new looks to the inside and out. There's a new look to the front end of the vehicle, while inside it has new interior quality with higher level materials, and a new infotainment system. This includes a 12-inch display standard, plus a new portrait-positioned 15.5-inch display available as well. There's also BlueCruise which is a hands-free highway driving technology on the Expedition Platinum. You will also find the new Ford Expedition Timberline with rugged features and 33-inch wheels as well.

All-New Timberline Series

The 2022 Expedition Timberline is the most off-road capable Expedition ever. Built to empower your next family adventure, it's equipped with a modified suspension, best-in-class ground clearance,* a heavy-duty skid plate and advanced tech like Trail Control,™, class-exclusive Trail Turn Assist** and Zone Lighting. ** Plus, a unique interior and rugged exterior ensure it's ready to stand out wherever you decide to explore.

Remarkably Redesigned

Several new interior updates can be found throughout the 2022 Ford Expedition lineup, like the most available speakers in its class, with 22 including a subwoofer,* with the B&O® Unleashed Sound System by Bang & Olufsen.® There's also new, customer-driven tech like SYNC® 4 and available SYNC® 4A. The exterior features refreshed front and rear fascias with new chrome accents. To top it off, there's the all-new, off-road capable Expedition Timberline and the head turning style of the sport-tuned Stealth Performance Edition.

Adventure-Ready Interior

Inside you're going to find seating for eight with easy access to all rows and the ability to fold down rear seats to get more room and customize your storage options. The three-seat second row bench is standard but you can opt for captain's chairs as well. You'll find a large touch display as well as connectivity with your smartphone, plus Wi-Fi available too. There's plenty of safety onboard as well, which includes BlueCruise which is on the Platinum edition and allows for hands-free driving in selected highway driving situations. Along with that you will find Ford Co-Pilot360™ for safety which includes features like forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking as well as lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist, as well as available adaptive cruise control and more.

The 2022 Ford Expedition offers 104.6 cu. ft. of cargo space behind the first row of seating,* 63.6 cu. ft. behind the second row** and 20.9 cu. ft. behind the third row. Expedition MAX adds another 16.9 cu. ft., totaling up to a 121.5 cu. ft. Plus, the standard Cargo Management System helps you organize anything from groceries to equipment or whatever else your day demands.†

2022 Expedition Timberline: Class-Leading Performance and Off-Road Capability*

The new Expedition comes with a standard twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 with 380 horsepower, along with a smooth riding 10-speed automatic transmission. You can add up to 400 horsepower with the Expedition Limited, while the Timberline along with the Limited with the Stealth Performance package offers 440 horsepower. You get choices, and with all available in rear- or all-wheel drive you can pick the drivetrain that's right for you, along with getting towing of up to 9,300 pounds depending on the option you choose.

2022 Ford Expedition Timberline features our latest Trail Control technology, which works with the braking and throttle systems to give you even more control on rough, uneven terrain and steep grades. Also included is class-exclusive Trail Turn Assist,*  Zone Lighting*  and Hill Descent Control.™

Unique 18-Inch Wheels

The 32-inch all-terrain tires come with standard 18-inch high-gloss black-painted aluminum wheels with a laser-etched Timberline logo. Combined with a 2-speed transfer case and Control Trac® with electronic limited-slip differential, you'll get excellent traction and control wherever the road or trail leads.

Exclusive Interior Colors

The 2022 Ford Expedition Timberline has exclusive interior trim details and colors, including ActiveX™ trimmed seats with heathered cloth insert or available leather-trimmed seats, Deep Tangerine stitching and the Timberline logo. The same stitching is also found on the door trim and on the heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Drive Hands-Free on the Highway with Ford BlueCruise

From your driveway to the highway, available Ford Co-Pilot360™ Technology can help you stay confident and in command. For 2022, Ford BlueCruise will be standard on Ford Expedition Platinum. This feature will allow you to operate an Expedition Platinum hands-free on prequalified sections of divided highways, while being monitored by a driver-facing camera to make sure you're keeping your eyes on the road. *

 *Driver-assist features are supplemental and do not replace the driver's attention, judgment and need to control the vehicle. Ford BlueCruise is a hands-free driving feature. Only remove hands from the steering wheel when in a Hands-Free Blue Zone. Always watch the road and be prepared to resume control of the vehicle. It does not replace safe driving. See Owner's Manual for details and limitations. The BlueCruise Prep Kit contains the hardware required for this feature. Requires purchased 3-year connected service plan with regular map updates, FordPass App, and modem activation. BlueCruise functionality expected 3rd quarter 2021CY.

Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go with Lane Centering

Available on select Ford vehicles is a series of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) features employing advanced radar and camera technology. ACC lets you set a cruising speed and distance from the vehicle ahead of you. When it slows down, you automatically do too; when traffic picks back up, you resume your preset speed and distance. Then comes ACC with Stop-and-Go, which enables you to come to a complete stop when the vehicle ahead stops. * Now add Lane Centering, which scans the lane markings to help you stay in your lane if the system detects you're drifting out of it. And that's not all. Now there's Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, which includes all of these features plus new Speed Sign Recognition that can automatically adjust the set speed of your vehicle to the posted speed limit.

*If the vehicle is stopped for more than three seconds, the driver must intervene and press the "RES" button or accelerator pedal to resume system operation.

Active Park Assist 2.0

Parking made easy - even in tight parallel or reverse perpendicular spots. When engaged, it can help locate a potential spot. Then all you have to do is brake to a complete stop, shift into Neutral and hold down the Active Park Assist button - your vehicle does the rest. Available Active Park Assist 2.0 also offers park out assist with side-sensing capability, so you can confidently navigate out of a parking spot when someone's parked too close to you.

Intersection Assist

It's not easy to cross a busy intersection, especially when you need to consider other vehicles around you. Intersection Assist can help. Available Intersection Assist uses the front camera and radar sensors to detect oncoming traffic while you are attempting to turn left. If there's a risk of a potential collision with an oncoming vehicle, your vehicle can alert you and apply the brakes.* This just might give you more confidence when attempting to make a left turn at an intersection.

Trail Control™

It's like cruise control for when you're off road. Available Trail Control™ is a driver-activated cruise control system that helps you navigate more easily off the road so that you can focus all your attention on the thrill of steering over the demanding terrain.*
