2016 Ford Fiesta Chicago Illinois The Ford Fiesta's expressive, sporty appearance and character set it apart from common subcompacts, proving that small, inexpensive cars are no longer all necessarily grim, soulless, stereotypical econoboxes. Changes in 2016 are slight; most newsworthy are the additions of the Sync 3 infotainment system and a few new color choices. The bold Fiesta design reflects Ford's latest styling and refreshes the frontal exterior. There are four Fiesta models, the base S, intermediates SE and Titanium, and the premium ST, all available in both five-door hatchback or four-door sedan body styles except the ST, a hatchback only. Fiesta steering and handling are impressive enough to make it fun to drive for any but the most demanding, unforgiving drivers. Three engines are available, the four-cylinder, 1,600-cubic centimeter (cc), 120-horsepower standard base, the three-cylinder, 1,000-cc, 123-horsepower option for SE models, and the four-cylinder, 1,600-cc, 197-horsepower Econoboost® standard for the ST. The 2,600-pound base car will set no speed records, but it feels energetic, especially with the manual transmission at high engine revs. The optional PowerShift automatic transmission has a dual-clutch gearbox. The optional three-cylinder SE engine is very frugal, capable of more than 40 miles per gallon (mpg) of gas in highway driving. The hot-model Fiesta ST, by far the fastest, has only a six-speed manual transmission. Inside, the Fiesta has well-coordinated colors and textures that make it look worth more than its actual cost. The driving position is great in all models, and there's enough support for twisty mountain roads or all-day interstate comfort. Fiesta S models have cost-cutting manual windows but also air conditioning. Fiesta SE models add a perimeter alarm system and ambient lighting, while the Titaniums have standard rearview cameras. Standard on the ST and Titanium and optional on the SE is the new Sync 3 system for audio, connectivity, and navigation functions. |
Interior | From the Chicago area, request 2016 Ford Fiesta quotes from Fox Ford | Inside, the soft-touch upper dash, substantial trim, and high-quality seat upholstery give the car a feeling of costly comfort. The Fiesta interior is comfortable, nicely styled, and fully-equipped. Hatchback models have a cargo capacity of 26 cubic feet. The sedans have roomy 12.8-cubic foot trunks. Ford keeps the Fiesta interior from drabness with bright, colorful trims and materials all very well coordinated. Cupholders are in convenient locations, small storage bins are bountiful, and the driving position hardly could be better. Ford has done a good job of sound deadening with laminated glass and an engine sound blanket. Front seats are nicely contoured; high-performance ST models get superior Recaro® seats that hug the sides for lateral support in fast driving and tight cornering. The ST also has some noticeable engine noise not unwelcome in this fine-sounding car.

Powertrain | | The Fiesta ST's turbocharged, four-cylinder, 1,600-cc, 197-horsepower, Ecoboost® engine feels much stronger than does the base 1,600-cc, 120-horsepower Ti-VCT I4, which has a standard five-speed manual and an optional six-speed PowerShift automatic transmission that contributes to the excellent Fiesta fuel efficiency. The ST model has a six-speed manual transmission only. The manually-equipped, three-cylinder, 1,000-cc EcoBoost® engine makes 123 horsepower, more than the base four with less fuel. Drive this little car energetically, and not only will it keep up with the fastest traffic, but it will be clear why small cars with small engines can be fun to drive.
Mechanical | Fox Ford Chicagoland Ford Fiesta dealer | Fiestas do well at convincing drivers that they have more than their actual performance capability; good steering and suspension systems compensate for what they may lack in raw power. Electric power steering with judicious weighting and satisfying feedback make the Fiesta responsive and nimble but sufficiently secure for long highway hauls without hesitation. With the standard four-cylinder engine, drivers willing to rev it up will be satisfied with the performance they can get from the Fiesta. It's not a speedster by any definition, acceleration from 0 to 60 miles per hour is in the ten-second area, but there's acceptable responsiveness from a car that can get 40 mpg in highway driving. The Fiesta ST, the performance model, has the same basic layout as the others plus a stiffer suspension, rear disc brakes, a quicker steering ratio, and electronic torque vectoring to get all engine power to the road surface effectively.
Safety | | The 2016 Ford Fiesta has plenty of safety features. In NHTSA testing, the Fiesta earned four stars out of five in frontal and rollover crash tests. The IIHS has given the Fiesta its highest ("Good") ratings in large frontal, side, rear, and roof-strength crashworthiness tests. Standard Fiesta safety features are front and side airbags for drivers and front-seat passengers, rear side curtain airbags, and a driver knee airbag. The electric power steering keeps the Fiesta tracking properly on crowned roads or in heavy crosswinds.Request 2016 Ford Fiesta Quotes from Fox Ford: Visit Fox Ford Lincoln, the leading 2016 Ford Fiesta Chicago IL dealership, for a great deal on a new 2016 Ford Fiesta.
